"A life coach is someone who will (among other things) work with you to help you set goals, identify unnecessary "stressors" in your life, and achieve those long-term desires you've always had but never figured out how to reach. I personally had a life coach who helped me formulate and stick to a plan to get into grad school, something I had been wanting to do for a long time but just couldn't get myself to -do- on my own. My life coach also helped me get rid of a lot of unnecessary 'clutter' in my life and to figure out how to set a weight-loss plan and stick to it." From the internet by "Stacyj"

On Sunday, September 20, 2009 Jane Goodall's organization, Roots & Shoots members & friends all over the world will come together to promote peace. In support of the United Nations International Day of Peace, Roots & Shoots members will gather and celebrate the Roots & Shoots Day of Peace on Sunday, September 20, 2009. Jane explains, "This year we hope once again to see doves flying all around the globe. With these humble creations made out of reused materials, we remind everyone that peace is possible. We celebrate all that is free and noble in the human spirit. And we celebrate all that so many people have done throughout the year—and will do next year—to create a better world."

Happy Sunday! Thought for today - "Life lived for tomorrow will always be just a day away from being realized." Leo Buscaglia. I've working on living in the present moment, not easy, but the only place I actually exist. One book I'm reading says to be aware of my body, so I work on being conscious of my breathing - my morning meditation - my breath of life. It's impossible to worry or feel uptight, when I’m consciously breathing...isn't it interesting how many things we do "unconsciously." I remember a counselor once asking, “Where art thou when thou art not with thyself?”

I was flipping through one my favorite books, The Power of Focus by Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen, and Lee Hewitt, when this phrase caught my eye: "Avoid toxic people." I think we unconsciously tend to avoid people who make us uncomfortable for whatever reason - could toxicity be one? And is the definition for "toxic people" the same for each of us? Could someone be toxic for you and nor for me? Or the reverse, for me and not for you? It’s a challenging concept and one which may prove healthy and helpful for each of us to examine individually - or with a coach.

One way of looking at life is to believe that everything happens for a perfectly good reason, even if we cannot always see or know what that is. Many times a coach can help us look for & find that “perfectly good reason” or at least help us discover the problem or situation which gave rise to the event in question, be it a “perfectly good reason” or not. I would love to be that coach for you! http://tr.im/yr6b

Wow! This morning I lucked into a National Public Radio one hour interview with Doctor Dame Jane Goodall, the "English UN Messenger of Peace, primatologist, ethologist, and anthropologist...well-known for her 45-year study of chimpanzee social and family interactions in Gombe Stream National Park, Tanzania, and for founding the Jane Goodall Institute." (Wikipedia) The conversation was fascinating...what a beautiful, gracious, and caring lady. She talked about how others is remote unknown parts of the world were beginning to recognize the need to conserve. She described how, in one barren remote part of the world a one of a kind female bird, wanting to mate, found a male who happened to be sterile and she left him for a younger fertile mate. Isn’t that amazing? If I remember correctly, there are no at least 12 bird pairs spreading through that particular area. You can find out more about her at janegoodall.org.

Here's good one. Type you full name, like Patricia Koehler, in your seach engine and see what happens. It could be interesting.
